It’s not every day a seal comes to visit but this young one turned up outside Makcari’s on the Corner on Monday, possibly looking for a Buy One, Get One Free breakfast?
The RSPCA and Coastguard duly arrived, checked her over and took her down to Hampton pier where she quite happily returned to the sea, sheltered from the high wind on the leeward side of the pier.
The gusting wind also brought a feast for the seagulls. With the high tide, waves were spraying over the Neptune sea wall and into the car park – bringing with them a number of small fish! Quite a fascinating sight from the comfort of a nice warm coffee lounge. Unfortunately, not so much for those who had parked there earlier in the morning…
